Art Gallery Malé, Boduthakurufaanu Magu, Block 66, Malé, Maldives
8th - 29th September 2022
I am a Maldivian abstract artist who seeks to colour the daily minutia of
everyday life with mixed media and unconventional techniques such as
impasto, sgraffito and block printing. I have questions – what is art anyway?
And how can I draw inspiration from the unseen, the unheard and even from
the unthought?
everyday life with mixed media and unconventional techniques such as
impasto, sgraffito and block printing. I have questions – what is art anyway?
And how can I draw inspiration from the unseen, the unheard and even from
the unthought?
An interior designer by profession, I completed my BA (Hons) in Interior
Design at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore in 2022. Many of my
university projects, reflect the fragility of my small island home. Utilising
interior design to create spaces that are environmentally sound and
sustainable, and honouring the culture, traditions and the Maldivian walk of
life, I strive to create art that has a voice in the climate change conversation.
Merging my passions for climate advocacy, art and interior design, I aspire to
develop creative hubs with spaces designed to become in themselves, artworks
that draw people in, evoke emotions and provoke discussions that lead to
thoughtful reflection, decisive actions and impactful outcomes to address the
global climate crisis.
