The Studio Kitchen hopes to solve the issue of finding a means to work around creative mind block. It is a space for eating and thinking, food experimentation and spontaneous encounters.
The Studio Kitchen comprises of indoor and outdoor dining areas, street food stalls and food trucks, as well as wall panels for street art.
Artists and visitors could choose to go to either one of the two buildings. Whichever path they choose leads them to a new experience, fueling their inspiration.
“The openness of the street food stalls and flexible art spaces allow both cooks and artists to share and exchange ideas and inspiration, and results in the crossing of the disciplines of art and cooking, leading to food experimentation.”

The street food stalls act as the battery that fuels the artists of the Studio Kitchen. While the Studio Kitchen’s open street food stalls are located at the heart of the buildings, the flexible art and dining spaces surround them on different mezzanine levels from the first floor to the second floor.
Inspired by the street art observed around the site, street food trucks are introduced, which could be moved around in the hopes for there to be more interactions between cooks and artists in the area.
Up the stairs on the second floor, there are more art and dining spaces positioned around a central void that offers views into the street food stalls down below.
There are also alternate routes the artists could take, making it possible for new discoveries to be made. The staircase that leads to the link bridge was designed with long steps to provide niches for street artists to work on their art.
“While the flexible dining spaces in the Studio Kitchen can also be used for eating as well as creating art, they remain compartmentalized. Therefore the street food stalls in the middle act as a nice leveller that fuses the workspaces together.”
