ALTITUDE - Ileana Makri Jewellery Store

Altitude is a store designed for Ileana Makri Jewellery, a Greek Jewellery label. Ileana Makri Jewellery is a high-end jewellery store based in Athens, Greece. The concept, Sense of a Journey is inspired by Makri’s unique designs, each piece as if from different worlds, making them unusual and mysterious. Likewise unusual and ambiguous, mountains have an allure of mystery, a risk of the unknown. Drawing upon inspiration from their folded forms, I designed a store that emulates a journey up these incredible landforms.

The first floor is comprised of three collections and is designed for customers to experience both dark and light spaces. The transition from dark to light spaces makes the journey more exciting.

In addition, there is a pond surrounded by nature at the heart of the store with display cases, which entices customers to venture forward to see the rest of the collections juxtaposed against nature.

Up the stairs on the second floor is a balcony that serves as a base camp for customers to relax and enjoy refreshments. There are also two workshop areas at the store’s summit, where customers can experience the journey of jewellery designing.
